Hold Me Close

Hold me close, I told my mother, my friend Im 17 now, never to be 4 again I had just grown up, right under my brow. Ive grown so smart, so tall, so free My soon-to-be life is a reflection of me My eyes are green, that's my daddy you see But my personality has come from only me. Ill be leaving this fall, and try not to cry. My family and friends ill pass right by In that purple Jeep, ill drive away But i'll still be 5 at the end of the day. Just for now, we take it slow Day by day, i will grow old But for now just please, hold me close.
