Hold Me Tight

I have a friend who forgets.

She knows you through and through,

As we all must,

But sometimes she just, forgets.

She doesn’t hold close to you

So I have to hold close to her.

Your essentiality leaves her mind-

She lets you go,

And she lets go.

Down, down

Spiralling

Falling

Slipping

Into the darkness

The darkness created by an absence.

Optimism, of course, is who I’m talking to.

Who you are, what you are,

Why you are.

Because without you we fall flat.

Without you we have no point.

Without you we have no hope.

Without you, we are not
