Holding on

Tomorrow is too far away I am sinking beneath the waves today Beaten down by weighty solitude Trapped in this desperate mood I can’t remember the last time I was okay Dark thoughts each night I must slay Sunken in this deep abyss I don’t know how it came to this I got stuck somehow in this pit By some far off light my hope is lit Will I always be stuck here Finding myself is the one I fear It is to God whom I always pray Because he gives me a reason to stay One hope, one life, one way Keeping that eerie monster at bay
