Holding On

Holding on aint holding on when the person has let go

Holding on aint holding on when you wanna let go

When Jake hit a lower state, in came Jane

Jane used to fantisize about money, jewels, and fame

Not a game, Not another thought in the membrane

Sometimes you gotta cut the grass before you continue your path

Because you dont see the snakes, you just feel the aftermath

Love what you call it?

Poisoned with the tonic

Ironic... You never listen til the wolves gets silent

Cuz Jane bit fast, and Jane bit quick

Now Jake look back on his life and dont know where it went

Holding on aint holding on unless it involves a telephone

Holding on aint holding on when you got the dial tone

But to each's own

Everybodies grown, thats why I embodied

my mind and body so it wont get owned or get sold

Little black girls for little black pearls

They keep the blackberry pearls, bbm'n to the world

But of course, they all got they skin exposed

Coach cause its proper, Fendi for the Opera

Gotta make sure they give it to the highest offer

Keep denying til the alter, then he assaults her

Would've, Could've, Should've, Needed some help

But instead, you holding onto his wealth

Holding on aint holding on if it aint your purse

Holding on aint holding on if you find yourself hurt

Now you holding on to an empty dream, or so you think

Gotta nother baby every time you blink,

So since you aint on your feet, you grabbing at everybody heels

Searching for a handout, Looking for a pick-me-up

Dont pick the kids up, dont show no love, teach them to not feel

All cause you holding tight to the past, wondering why

Holding on aint holding on when you wanna fly

Holding on aint holding on when you wanna fly
