The Hole You Leave Behind
I miss you. I miss talking to you
I miss feeling vulnerable when I looked at you and you looked at me
I miss the excitement I had in the way you made me feel… Things have changed between us but still I have that feeling in my stomach Except now instead of that feeling making me feel weightless and I feel planted in the ground stuck unable to avoid the collision a collision that is coming for me
I try to find mind numbing tasks to preform because when my mind allowed to roam you are the only thing it goes back too
I keep thinking about the way it ended and the cold sweat that surrounded my body when you said it was over… I didn’t want to hang up the phone I didn’t want to end what we had
You said it was bad timing and that we were in different points in our lives, I agreed but I told myself that 2 years earlier and that’s why I didn’t say anything to you
I was over you. I didn’t think about you. But then you came back into my life it made me think of the first time I saw you It made me feel like I was sitting next to you for the first time
It made me think about how you made me forget about everything that was going on in my life I forgot about how my body stopped me from getting on the field I forgot about the friend I never said goodbye too
When you entered my life, I was a broken man and you helped patch that hole.
When we came back together that hole blow wide open
The only thing that kept me from feeling the pain from before was the fact that you were there to hold me
And now that you are gone… my feelings and emotions spill as the pain seeps out of me and surrounds me
All I ask is too see you one more time
talk to you one more time
feel with you one more time
so that maybe you will too
That broken man is still inside
he still is me
I want to fix him with you because that is the man you deserve that is the man, I want you to have
I just hope in the end that man can be me.
