The Hollow Heart
On the floor he sits
In this once blissfull
Place, now nothing but
Desolate and smug.
Burned and pained the hau-
ghty fire leaves him,
Devouring his dignity.
Yet, he crawls to it
And wallows in the
Ashes of
Modesty.
His pride regards him
with scorn and leaves like
The rest.
Sits he in this
Lonely place with
The ashes to give him
Solace.
