Homage to Maya Angelo

silence befalls the

garden

where you ran

speakers play only

static

where your words

eternally echo

blessed be those

whom have borne

witness

heartfelt tears fall upon the

earth

may your spirit be

lifted

by the song of a

million

birds

i have known why the caged bird sung

now i know why the angels

do
