Stomping into the house

Plunking my purse down

I stop and stand still

Waiting

There’s the hearth

Overflowing with warmth

The smell of cookies baking,

Lavender and bacon grease

tickle my nose

Chink, chink, chink as the dog

runs to greet me

My house is full

My stresses release

I am Home
