The landscape is barren The wind blown is warm Some bathe in the sunlight Some burn with its scorn Some lie there in waiting With unquenchable thirst Except the water is gone From this dry, dessert earth Some see a plant so far away Those who go to explore it find, it's a cactus decayed Nothing can live in this terrible land So full of heat, dryness, and sand
