I look into the light and it's dark, I look at the skin and see sin's mark. I touch the fire and it's cold, the blood flowing down seems so bold. Life's stain on the earth is fleeting, death's approach soon we're all meeting. Come lay by me as I sleep, watch as the last tear in my eyes creep. Hold my hand and breathe out with me, maybe I will finally feel free. I smile one last time, maybe happiness is my last crime. The thought crosses my mind, the world has no hold on life I find. Stars above my head start to fade, I fall back to the dirt in which I was made. This is home I think as my eyes close again, it is done, but never the end.
