home
Home.
That’s all I will ever want.
That’s all I will ever need.
I don’t care for the building with the fixed windows,
It’s about the heads that rest on the soft worn pillows.
I don’t care for the freshly cut lawn,
I want the laughter until dawn.
I don’t care for the pipes that run throughout,
That’s not what any of this is about.
Home.
It’s not a space filled with mis-matched furniture
It’s about the sweet memories that make me feel secure.
Their support is what I could never live without
On my own, I am all doubt.
Without them would mean
The beauty of the world remaining unseen.
It is through their eyes,
That I realize, not just the potential of the world
But I a gleam of future in gold.
Home.
That’s all I will ever want.
That’s all I will ever need.
They are my home.
One day, it is all going to be gone.
But not them.
The memories of them by my side,
Will not easily subside.
The imprint they have left
Cannot be repressed.
Home.
That’s all I will ever want.
That’s all I will ever need.
