Creaky, wooden gate; darkened garage; white door.

The alarm shrills, but have no fear, I’ve got the code.

 

One step, two step, three step, four.

At the table.

Binders down, backpack off.

Wallet, pen, keychain, phone, glasses, watch.

Shoes, socks, belt.

Hours I’m gone and so I’m tired.

But this is where I rest.
