At home

Hope runs away from me

"Catch me if you can" it says

The light no longer shines in my face

A thought wonders

These legs of mine no longer move

These arms of mine are stuck in a gripping position

My eyes

Roam the expanding space around me

No words are set free

For I am

Stuck, frozen, stopped

But yet I live

Pain feels very vein in my body

My nerves jump out of the very skin that holds them

I think

What's going on

What's happening

What happened and why

Why can't I move but still see

Why can't I breathe but still live

There is a feeling in the air

A soul piercing feeling

A feeling of betrayal, sabotage, and vulnerability

I want to hide but can't run

I am stuck and yet

I am at home with family and friends

At home where "I" belong

Laughter and joy is released from my body

Warmth covers me like a blanket

And still cold

This is what I feel

At home
