We lost the game; we lost our dog It was hardly a good night But we are the resilient Never giving up the fight The sun goes up and down again Life's wheel grinds ever on Serenade the moonlight, falling Deep in love with the dawn The cycles never change up We just ride them in our moods All the same but always different Life's full spectrum attitudes The little losses we give daily The giant wins we have alone Though it all can seem so pointless All we cherish is our home Our tiny piece of peace we crave To tell ourselves we matter To express the things we hold most dear A place where things we scatter To come home is to be home To know and feel right in your space The last thing this world can take from us Is our home, our stake, our place There's no universal definition Home is but what, to each, it means It's the place that we run back to For where we're homesick, in our dreams
