I took the long road home today

making friends with the ghosts who walked my way

They told me something, I think it's safe to say

"Home isn't made of wood and clay

it's made of blood, flesh, and each breath you take"

Scatter the pearls; scatter the gold

take what you need, and reap what you sow

"We must cultivate our garden" one will say

"For growth and renewal is apart of each day"

Though, It seems to me that the dead live free

and that the living are dying to breath

I'll cup my hands, put faith in my palms, and set this decree

Plant a seed, and leave this tree

to shadow and nurture anothers dreams
