Home Grown

Where I’m from

Chicago is a day trip

1200 students is an average-sized school

and 3 a.m. Steak ‘n Shake runs are routine

It’s soda not pop

you can’t have holes in your jeans

and the crazy cat lady is famous

The NFL is more popular than college football

there’s a McDonald’s every 7 miles

and bomb threats occur annually

Everyone hates Pekin

Huck’s after practice is essential

and you avoid Star Street at all costs

You can’t bring a backpack to class

Coach Plummer is idolized

and ICC is your last resort

Senior pranks aren’t allowed

apple cider donuts are to die for

and people set the bathrooms on fire[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"63942","attributes":{"alt":"","class":"media-image","height":"360","typeof":"foaf:Image","width":"480"}}]]
