Home of Hearts
A little girl got hurt today,
Sad and alone with nothing to say.
I saw you sit beside her,
helped her hold her head a little higher,
You made her smile,
And her laughter was heard for a mile.
If only you knew
The problems you had helped her through.
If only you could tell
How you saved her from herself.
And gave her a life
She hadn't known before pain cut her like a knife.
But you had seen her that day
And helped her chase her self hatred and anger away.
You had shown her what it meant
To be happy once again.
And you have helped me find my way
In this difficult time of day
The time where I sat down
In the middle of the town.
When I was alone
You reminded me I had a home
A special place in your heart to forever roam.
And I thank you.
