Home In My Mind

You don't visit the home

I built for you

In my head as frequently.

I'll see you from time to time

When you stop by with a quick glance

Or quick smile;

But those aren't as frequent anymore.

As much as I miss you,

I do think it is better this way.

Moving you out of my mind

Will bring us both the peace

We've been desperately trying to find.

You are always welcome

To visit your home in my mind.

The fan will be on

And the lights will be low;

Just the way you like it.

And please, wherever you go,

Do your best to remember:

You'll always live in my heart.
