Home Sweet Home

Strange house

down the block

more like a war zone

than a home
by night
there’s yelling and screaming
parents talking about each other’s
death
like it’s a celebration

why do you
hold so much pain
and injustice
the poor girl
wishing she was out of this
hell hole

light are always on
followed by howling
as the father walks in

poor child you can live with me
you no longer have to be
a hostage in this cell

the problems is
poor child
I am you
that strange house
is my jail of horror

so poor child let’s sob together
in memory of this
painful disaster
and rejoice when it’s destroyed
no longer a strange house
but now a distant memory
