Homecoming

The lights glimmered against your eyes

I remember staring at them as you spun me around

You whispered something to me

But it was left unheard

I was enthralled by the emerald hue

A bright smile flashed

As I laid my head on your shoulder

In that moment

It was only you and I

Swaying to the soft rhythms

In our own little universe
