Homeless

I am homeless; I have no home

Though at times, I feel alone

No one to talk to, nothing to chat

Just in the gutters with an occasional rat

My clothes are in shambles and filthy rags

Hardly any sleep with a faceful of sags

With fingernails bitten to its thin fleshed tips

My shoe soles worn and laces ripped

As I sit with back on metal wall

With heart beat aching and starting to stall

My card-board sign with one word: help

Yet they let me suffer this awful hell

Hunger and thirst soon takes control

My conienceness is losing its hold

As I slip into this place of home

And out of my homeless world

I've only been homeless with my family for several months when I was 10, but every other "home" that I've been in only lasted for a year (at max) or several months before moving again, and that was for most of my life growing up as a little kid. I'm a teen now, and I've only been in 1 shelter so far, but God took care of us and now we've been living in a 2 bedroom apt. for almost 5 years, which is the longest we've ever stayed in one place.
