Homeless veteran

Do I get noticed?

Do you even care?

That there is a homeless veteran, sitting right here

We fought for the country; we fought for many years

But we sleep with hunger and tears

Why do you look at us with disgust and fear?

You should know that the fight was hard to bear

we seek your help , not to scare

I lost a friend, someone who was dear

But why would you care

there is homeless veteran sitting right here.
