I look and see the people scrambling around me
Envying the joy and laughter they express
The ignorant business man that stalks by angers me
He doesn't even realize how good he has it

I stand pleading for help to save my kids, my life
My wife
Everyone sees me, but no one hears me
Not caring about the beggar I've come to be

I'm driven to my past
Successful I was until it was ripped out from under me
I searched for jobs to end this poverty
But my desire was over taken with hopelessness

Now I scrounge and search to build up the one thing missing
Lusting the blessings of the people surrounding me
