Homesick

Sometimes I hear a song

Or look at the sky,

And my heart aches.

But it takes the sweetest chords,

The softest glow of a pink lemonade cloud,

To elicit this pain.

I think I’m longing for a home

I’ve never known.

This universe is dying,

And even its best qualities

Can only hint at what’s waiting

Beyond the veil…

I’m coming home.

McKenzie Romero

I'm the oldest daughter of the Romero family. I love my God, my family, my friends, and, uh... food. I also like to write little snippets of nonsense when they come to me, so I guess I'm a poet of sorts. (Also: Some of my poems, now that I look back, were legit hormone-fueled... but I posted them anyway 'cause I have OCD and everything must be in its place, so if I wrote it *pbbbt*, it's in there). Thanks for reading my stuff! It means a lot!
