Honestly Me

Location

Hi, my name is 'Trying'

My name is, am I good enough?

They call me generic

Bland, I could be a flake in your cereal

Voted best sense of humor, I'm not funny

Chose to sit alone in elementary school cafeteria

Did my homework during recess

Just realizing now how much quicksand I sped through

To be where I am now

Hi, my name is 'Hi'

Hello, doesn't get more real than this

Understandable, relatable, simplistic

But you're never going to know that

Why is it so hard to impress when real brings out an intellectual mask

Caked onto your true colors

Bland

I like being a flake in cereal

I'm proud to be a part of a whole, and I can't separate myself from that

Hi, my name is 'Human'

Two eyes, one mouth,

Yep, there's all the rest of my biological functions secured in place

What will ever stop me from being a brunette

With brown eyes and pale skin

What will ever set me apart from the rest, maybe this

This is an honest reflection of who I am

I have nothing to hide, and I don't wear make up

My personality isn't Maybelline approved

Hi, my name is 'Mistake'

where do I go when I don't know what I've done

Where I've been.

Do I crawl back home, to my roots?

There's no where else but up

Therefore my name is 'Human'

My name is 'Hi'

They see that I'm just 'Trying'

But this is honestly me.
