Honesty

Honestly, honesty is the best way to go Keep it real, why lie ? Let them people know Because the truth will set you free From guilt, pain and envy They'll hate , They'll judge But at least you know That honestly, honesty is the best way to go You'll be hurt and played Lied to and betrayed Unfortunately things like that are inevitable But as long as you stay true to yourself Your realness remains memorable Many won't respect it Make you feel neglected People will never see from your perspective If they don't know That honestly, honesty is the best way to go They say truth hurts and lies heal To heal is to make healthy So how can a lie purify when it isn't even real ? Do your dirt in the shade of black And surely the lights will retrace your tracks They'll continue their fraudulence Living life so dandy Till fire catches their pants One day, one day their life will show That honestly, honesty is the best way to go I preach this so well Yet sometimes there's lies I tell Hypocrisy I practiced I'm only human I'd justify Until I myself recognized That honestly, Honesty is the best way to go
