Honesty Is Its Own Reward

Many people do not know

The effect of a little white lie

How it can fool others so well

It can shape someone's whole life

The story of a boy

Who can visually see his fibs

As they make his nose grow long

Extending outward beyond the chin

A wish to be normal

Is what all he really wants

His issue is youthful ingnorance

Not knowing right from wrong

The father who could not help him

The kids who would corrupt him

The boy is troubled by his fate

As his nose grew long and thin

Believing himself to be an outcast

Having no one to confide in

The boy ran away from home

And began his life of sin

With a mask to cover his face

He was now a man of crime

A bandage where his nose would be

The mask worn over time

Robbing others of their wealth

He was wanted far and wide

The former wish to be normal

Was now a memory that had died

We come to realize

That deceit has lead to darkness

Once upon a time is gone forever

The boy will never return

He never learned what he needed

This is all from a single lie

That if he could learn to be good

He will have his place in the sky

Say goodbye, final words

Let the tales now be written

No blue fairies or magic spells

Could've saved his soul
