Honey Bee
The single honey bee lands upon the blossoming rose,
expecting the absolute best yet prepared for the worst.
Never understanding she could be defeated,
failure never being the option.
As time passed, her true self slipped away, away from the rose.
Losing her beautiful canary yellow and jet black stripes.
Being replaced with all muted tones,
She faded away, away from home.
Lost within the mix of all the other worker bees.
Buzzing along orderly like all the others.
Away from the vibrant red rose she once called home.
The once effervescent honey bee drifts far away,
away from the rose she once loved so much.
Away from her joy, away for her home, away from herself.
