Honey Bees

Honey Bees

Honey bees

forced to their knees

               by

pulling, tugging, tearing, scaring

Pinned against unfamiliar beds

their stripes drawn out in streaks of red

Uncertain cloudiness flooding their heads

Honey bees

scrambling for keys

to

happiness, hope, dreams, the car

Stuck against the driver’s side

left with no one to confide

Stuck alone on this awful ride

Honey bees

beginning to wheeze

from

holding, moaning, folding, groaning

Tangled inside off white sheets

while memory again retreats

And the monstrous beast feasts
