Honeydew

Honeydew was one of my favorite fruits in the world
From the vast sweetness from the very first bite
To the lingering taste of the fruit that dances on your taste buds
You savor another taste of it
Until you realize it
That the honeydew of your lovers lips where to be lost to your memories
The last touch of your lips as your eyes cry drops of honeydew
Their kisses were sweet and lingered in your mind
For after their departure, you weep dews of tears as you think to yourself
"honey, no."

As the honeydews are more difficult to find
You wander in a foreign field
Wondering what you did wrong
Was it the lack of time
Slipping from your hand?
Or rather was it the lack of communication we had
But yet, we can speak for hours and hours
I let my favorite fruit go
Because I love you.
