Honor Us Women

I want to ride on the back of bees

I truly wish you would recognize me

I claw into myself

I clean it up

I get thrown in the trash

for the garbage pickup

I display raw strength

as I am meant to do

Not a clap for me

but a medal for you

I'd like to understand why

a man's name is glorified

while a woman, a morning glory

is told to step aside

See I

through all my life

have tried and tried

won this and achieved that

all for not in a man's eyes

Now don't get me wrong

I am not here to pick sides

but to be honored

as a girl

just as much

as a guy
