Hope

I’ve seen the world.

Darkness, light

Shining through sorrow,

Making the tear-stained eyes of the

Lost, lonely, betrayed,

Hated glimmer with hope.

Hope that the pain will soon end,

The sorrow lift,

And life realign to the

Sun, moon, stars,

Distant lanterns

Glimmering in the night,

Promising

Love, life, joy,

Hope above all else.

Hope that

The tik tok of the clock,

The click clack of the keys,

The thump thump of the heart

All means something,

Anything,

Sweetness, joy, a purpose,

A way to live life to its fullest

And still be

Happy, healthy, rich, famous,

Ideals created in a shadow world where

Hope, despair, dreams

Run wild.

Dreams that

Coerce, entrance, entice,

Ignite the

Heart, mind, body, soul,

Imagination.

Dreams of

Life, love, happiness,

Hope pushing through the darkness.

Hope that

Drives, inspires

Pushes to be more,

To do more,

To live your dreams

‘cause there’s gotta be more.

It’s gotta be better.

Better than

The sorrow, bitterness,

Despair gripping us all,

Forcing us to our knees,

Squinting to find the light

Of the one common truth.

Because it has to be truth

Because if it’s not,

There’s nothing.

Nothing to keep us from falling into

Darkness, despair, grief,

Pain only survivable

With the light of the

Sun, moon, stars, dreams, desires,

Hope.
