Hope


I hope you're happy, darling.

I hope whatever finds you

does you well.

I hope that you don't forget

about me and our memories.

I hope that you breathe

and your lungs are never too full.

I hope you smoke slow

and you don't drink.

I hope you stay away from drugs

and that damned small piece of metal.

I hope you're doing

a hell of a lot better than I am.
