Hope

I close my eyes.

There is nothing but darkness,

But only for a moment.

For in an instance, I see it.

I see hope,

I reach for hope,

I have hope.

In gloom times,

When the world around me

Is in shambles I see,

Even for just a second

Hope.

Not till I take my last breathe

Do I know my life has ended.

Not till my last breath

Do I no longer fight.

Not till my last breath

Do I lose hope.

Hope that life

Will be whole again,

Hope that life

Will be good to me.

Hope that life

Will give me happiness.

I dream my life

Will never run out of hope.

It is powerful,

For hope gives people

The courage to dream,

The courage to try,

The courage to be.

Great possibilities lies

Within ones hope.
