Hope

Life is a game that you cannot win

A game that gives people pain and sadness

There is no winning

There is no hope

Only hurt and anger shows in this world

Everyone is for themselves and is on their own

It is up to them to keep themselves going

Others just do not care

The world and society brings everyone down

There is so much pain and death

There is no happiness

At least, that is what I thought

Society teaches us to think negatively about others and ourselves

Society taught me a few things about myself anyways

I am judgmental

I am hurtful to others

I am uncaring

I am argumentative

I am confrontational

I am friendless

Society taught me to think like this but no more

Good and loving people have shown me the truth

I have seen the light

I have seen happiness

I have seen love towards others

I have seen life

I have seen service for others

I have seen the good in people

I have seen the other side of the “tracks” and it is beautiful

I have seen hope

No longer do I consider myself judgmental

No longer do I consider myself hurtful towards others or uncaring

No longer do I consider myself argumentative or confrontational

No longer do I consider myself friendless

Now, I am changed

I am kind

I am thankful

I am happy

I am caring

I am filled with friends

I am filled with love

Most of all, I am filled with hope

I have seen the other side of the “tracks” and it is beautiful

I am there right now and I promise you  that I am never going back to the life I knew before

I now know hope and it is glorious

Hope is who I am and who I will forever be
