Hope

Hope,

A feeling, expectation, desire,

The root of all happiness,

The root of all disappointment,

The soar in your heart,

The knot in your stomach.

An essential human feeling,

Especially to those in search of light,

A person like I who has fought in darkness.

Why do I need hope?

The answer is quite obvious!

For hope's torch lights the way to the future.

Hope makes the present more bearable,

Like a mother's love or a lover's touch.

Without hope, I have nothing,

Without hope, the soul becomes an empty slate.

Without hope, nothing can stop the darkness from taking over.
