Hope

In darkest of days

In hardest of times

When morning has come

The sun yet to rise

When all that's inside

Is empty and plain

It's hope that restores

To feeling again

When happiness gone

And fear has beset

If hope is among

We soon shall forget

With hope do we fight

For better of times

With strength in our hearts

And fire in our eyes

We know what we can

And know what we will

It's hope that desires

And hope that fulfills

For without our hope

What more have we yet

A motionless life

One filled with regret

Our hope, it forgives

When we are condemned

And it reaches out

To give us a hand

My hope has turned me

From yesterday's grief

I seek tomorrow

With sighs of relief

It will be better

I can expect

My lessons are learned

I can not reject

When morrow arrives

And day has begun

Hope to do better

Than what has been done
