Hope

As I stand and stare at the sea meeting the sun on the horizon,

the beautiful golden orange and red mixed with green and blue of the sky and water.

Existence is now closer to nothingness as I stand and stare,

for how long shall I wait upon this island I'm stranded on?

To hope, for hope, need hope to live,

that I should muster the courage to wait.

How long must I wait before my body weakens and wither?

before all comes down to the question if one knew of my existence on this foreign land.

Without the hope to live,

this island like a forgotten cemetery.

I am only a piece of memory,

that will be gone when time passes by.

So I need to hope to live,

in such a vigorous way that I can look back to this day.

For hope to see what the future might bring,

I need the hope to live to tomorrow.

As I stand and stare at the never ending horizon,

what more do I need than to hope for a tomorrow?
