HOPE
<Whether alone, stuck in mid-ocean
Or caught tight within a rope
I could only remain courageous
By enveloping myself in hope>
Or caught tight within a rope
I could only remain courageous
By enveloping myself in hope>
<For I personally could not live
Barren of the precious thought
Today will pass like a stormy spell
And with tomorrow sun shall be brought>
Barren of the precious thought
Today will pass like a stormy spell
And with tomorrow sun shall be brought>
<A determined positivity
Can melt the ice of despair
May I call myself a grounded kite
Anticipating a gust of air>
Can melt the ice of despair
May I call myself a grounded kite
Anticipating a gust of air>
<Hope allows my eyes to stay open
Preventing eternal dark
An unwavering optimism
Can enlighten my discouraged heart>
Preventing eternal dark
An unwavering optimism
Can enlighten my discouraged heart>
<Not a material possession
Nor beloved paper of green
Could stir up continuity like
Inspiration I find within me>
Nor beloved paper of green
Could stir up continuity like
Inspiration I find within me>
<So may this fire continue to blaze
As red as the sky at dawn
And may I keep a tight hold onto
The hope that allows me to go on>
As red as the sky at dawn
And may I keep a tight hold onto
The hope that allows me to go on>
