Hope
started out as a myth
thought I could never make it
school was a joke
only way was to fake it
homework was for losers
who needs to learn?
the tracher my enemy
my education adjourned
they had no faith
thought i was a fool
no teacher reached out
while i was in k-12 school
constantly in trouble
highly unmotivated
i moved on to cc
having barely graduated
that following fall
something happened; quiet strange
the professors cared
and my mindset had changed
they offered belief
passion and drive
i fell in lve with learning
i felt so alive
i took pride in my work
wanted to be the best
to better myself
and help out the rest
Now I'm writing this poem
from UCSD
where I've grown as a student
to be academically free
Economy is my major
I want to make a difference
this schoarship will aid me
In giving others motivational assistance.
-Travis (Thank you to the community college professors that helped me believe in myself again)
