Hope
It's there when you need it most,
When everyting inside of you is empty and seems impossible,
When everone you know and loved has disappeared
And the future is a blurry vision of the unsolvable.
It creeps up on you during the pain and suffering,
When you can't get up because life's beating you down,
When sleep is hopeless because of the constant tears
And happiness, despite many efforts, is nowhere to be found.
Hope keeps me alive on these forign lands,
Where resources and communication don't exist.
It reminds me to continue, to conquer,
When the aches and hunger persist.
Without hope, I become my own worst enemy,
Someone who is afraid to explore the unpercieved,
Someone who becomes paralyzed and helpless,
Someone who is afraid to face the next day recieved.
I need hope to find light in my darknes,
To guide me through the darkness with its warm hands,
To continue searching on i my next day,
To escape these barren lands.
