Hope

Worthless,

Ugly,

Dumb,

A good for nothing little girl,

She doesn’t have a name anymore,

To them she is just a number,

She is nothing other than a toy

That they will use over and over again,

She had hopes and dreams,

But not anymore,

Now she just prays to be able to escape,

Alive.

She thinks to those days,

Those happy, happy days,

With her family and friends,

Surrounded by the ones she loved

And the ones who loved her,

She wishes she never met him,

He called her smart and beautiful,

But now they only call her weak,

All her self esteem crumbled,

Gone,

They chained her and beat her

And many other things you can’t imagine,

Hoping to one day see the Sun on her face

The wind in her hair

Her family smiling and saying she is worth something,

Not those people who branded her and kept her locked up all day

They don’t care,

They tell her that she is worth nothing,

That she deserves this,

But she is only a child who did nothing wrong and was taken

And forced into this terrible industry

Forced to do things she didn’t want to do,

But she is only a child.

She learned not to scream, cry, or complain

Because if she does

She knows she will no longer have the right to walk on this earth,

But she wants to say no more,

She is not someone who can be bought or sold,

She is human

A human with rights

That she is not alone in this fight for her life

She doesn’t want to live in fear

She doesn’t want to be an object

That has no say or right

Because if she says

Stop then it means go

Because if she says

No then it means yes,

But that is not true,

And she wants to speak and she wants to tell,

But,

Who will believe her,

She wants to ask for help she really does,

But,

Who will believe her,

If she tells someone,

She knows there is a chance,

That they won’t believe,

She is too scared to ask for help,

She grew up being taught,

That wearing shorts or showing your shoulders

Means you were asking for it

Or walking down a street alone

Means you were asking for it

Or even just being a GIRL

Meant she was asking for it

But she didn’t ask for any of this,

She didn’t ask to be taken away,

She didn’t ask to do those things,

No longer will she deal with these things

No longer will she be called names

No longer will she be a toy

No longer will she be violated,

No more she says

I am done she says

She is Mentally, Emotionally, and Physically Tired,

Tired of anything and everything,

She makes a prayer,

And she says,

“God,

I hope your listening,

Because I can’t do this anymore,

Please help me out,

And please watch over my family,

Amen”.

Then she put her head down on that cold, hard ground,

And went to sleep,

And when she awoke she was laying on the ground,

In front of what looked like gates,

They reminded her of those bars that held her back in all those years,

And then she was met by someone,

And that person said “Welcome Home”
