Hope

As I lay on my bed

The window's shades closed

The darkness in the room spreads to the door

The window is like the earth

The darkness of the cruel and bitter people

The light shining through the window shades

Is the kindnesses of people

I hear people cry for help

Of someone hurting them

Am I  going to watch

Stand there, not helping

Am I going to hurt others

Or am I  going to be a  person who helps

There is kindness

Of neighbors helping each other

Sharing

Taking care of people who might need help

There are many kindness in our world

But there is also cruelness and hatred

Stealing

Robbing

Violence

No one is born bitter

We can  become that way

Because of the people around us

 Jealousy

Is a common sin

Of what we want

We can get so focused on something

We become blind to  the things we have

It could be better than what we want

But it can slip through our fingertips

Into the drain

Sometimes

Once we realize what we had

 Can we get it back

 Maybe

But it might take a while

Bittersweet

We can be both

Or

We became so bitter

Our sweetness gets buried under all the bitterness

We created

But

There is hope and faith

For our world

That our world isn't gone too bitter

That the kindness can spread

Into the world

Like the light from the window

Into the darkness of the room
