Hope and beyond

Proverbs 13:12

12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is like a tree of life.

When hope rises to the utmost why does help appears all gone?

When dreams seem to fade away to upset our apple-cart

Where is the Lord of Hosts to explain all that is done?

Why does He tarry day after day as I seem to fall apart?

Where is the explanation and to decide what is right?

Is it right to unplug the machine that helps my breathing?

Ah! Author of Salvation You with all Your Might

Is it not to You that we in faith are reaching?

Far beyond ourselves we search what you placed deep within us

Reaching for the stars in hope to find You there

Where is now the purge and the Love that always surround us?

As with fears we spar while we’re seeking everywhere
