Hope for a Better Tomorrow

I’m not so much a girl for words when put up on the spot But you say to me “Slam what you will”; don’t you expect me to stop Why is the world so dark and cold with hunger in its eyes? It carries all of us away with all its evil lies The Media glories the filth of violence and debris It distorts the real image- makes slaves of you and me Why is there so much hatred? Why is there so much greed? The world of men is selfish and preys on carnal needs What happened to our fairytales? Who blew up all our dreams? “They bind us all in prison” …or at least that’s what it seems All eyes are looking downward and tears roll down our cheeks We live in a world of promise, yet everybody’s weak Look up oh fellow warriors! The world is not yet through Let’s change the world’s tomorrow, it’s something we must do Combat our mortal enemies by rising just and true Let’s change the world’s tomorrow, it’s up to me and you
