Hope Is He

Desire

A short, six letter word that by definition has the following meaning,

a strong feeling of wanting or wishing to have something.

In other words, something that you feel you cannot live without.

For some it is love, for a few it is fame, and for others it is money.

But what is it for me?

What do I crave? What do I desire? What is something that I feel I can’t live without?

There are many things, but one thing stands out far more than the others.

Hope.

An even shorter, four letter word that when used as a verb means,

To want something to happen or to be the case.

But when used as a noun, by my own definition, it is a feeling that is impossible to live without.

Without it I am nothing. I am empty. I am blank.

I need hope. I desire hope.

Hope alone can get me through the day.

Hope is the comforting friend you have who is always there for you.

On a good day you may forget about hope

Life is good and nothing can bring you down,

But then a tragedy occurs.

Your life that was once good is crumbling around you.

You feel as if you have nothing left.

You feel empty, sad, and alone.

But then there is hope.

Hope did not forget about you.

Hope is different for everyone.

For some it is just a word or a thoughtful saying,

“I hope it will be okay” or “I hope you get well soon”

For a few it is a loved one. Someone to stand by them through thick and thin.

For others it is fortune and the idea that buying something can make you truly happy.

But for me hope is more than just a word, loved one, or fortune.

To me hope takes the form of a spiritual being I know as God.

He is the comforting friend that will never leave me or forsake me.

He is my hope.

He as my hope is the one thing I cannot live without.

He is all I need.
