Hope of a Home; All I need
Everyone thinking you are a freak
Walking around with no friends
Hearing endless amounts of voices in your head
Wondering how long until you go completely insane
Finding no joy in this new place you have stumbled upon
Wanting to run back to where you came from
Never feeling safe, even in your own home
Traveling for miles upon miles to visit the people you’re closest to.
Not getting involved with anybody here
Scared of change
Evolving new social anxiety that had never occurred
Until you moved here
The place that took you away from your friends
Away from your family
Away from the lifestyle that you’ve always loved
Parents say “soon enough you’ll get used to it”
But we all know
That’s never the case
You struggle to find hope
To find joy in everything you do
School doesn’t help
Teachers calling you out
“Tell us a little about yourself”
Tears stream down your face from fear
Fear of being laughed at
Fear of being called a loser and a dork
A jerk and a freak
Nobody calling you a friend
Sitting at your home alone until
You can’t take anymore
You stare in the mirror wondering why
Why you got taken from your perfectly happy life
Taken from the school you loved
Taken from your house
Taken from the life that you loved
All you have to do is hope
Hope to be taken back
Back to the place you have loved
Maybe you can feel loved here
Here in the place you live now
In this new place called home
But it is not home
Because home is where the heart is
And your heart is back where you used to live
I cannot live without a home
I cannot live without hope
I never have
I never will
