Hope I Had

Once I believed in something real

Had faith in a love I would feel

But that hope I had collapsed and it faded away

Drowned in the darkness of another day

The hope I had disappeared long ago

In a lost dream, a whisper in the wind

Life's made promises I didn't want to know

The hope I had disappeared long ago

Despair and sadness fill my life

As I try to find something that's not a lie

But the sparkle in my eyes has been dimmed and destroyed

And the answer I seek can no longer be deployed

The hope I had disappeared long ago

In a lost dream, a whisper in the wind

Life's made promises I didn't want to know

The hope I had disappeared long ago

Searching for hope, searching for answers

Lost in a darkness, nothing left to surmise

Alone with the hurt, alone with my fears

The hope I had disappeared long ago

The hope I had disappeared long ago

In a lost dream, a whisper in the wind

Life's made promises I didn't want to know

The hope I had disappeared long ago
