Hope There's No Next Time

1step 2 steps 3, 4, 5...

i had to make sure that i was still alive

something bothered my foot

it messed with my soul

it hurts more to see a monster cry

i did it the thing that helped me survive

I couldn’t have been the black sheep in the soot

Damaged people damage people

I did what made sense in the back of my mind

maybe, just what if it was his time

Im only 7 and I had to stay put

dad tried to stop me from aiming

Maybe next time i wont be sly and dad will be shy

And I wont eat his sandwich and he’ll let me play outside
