Hopeful Still

Hopeful Still My God... My God... This world is flawed... So few, though, seem to see. You're still the God who has us awed... But what have you planned for me? What most we seem to want is not... What truly can fulfill... And everything this world's got... Diverts us from your will. And though for me , you're always there... It's been just you and me alone. There's love for you I ache to share... With a woman your love has known. But these years alone have left me shy... And doubtful I will see... The woman truly inclined to try... To see just what might be. Yet still, I'm hopeful soon that she... Will see that I'm the man... Who is who the one she'd dreamed to see... Who'd be thrilled to hold her hand! To love again so together we... Can share the joy of serving You! Together trusting you to be... Our God who's word is true! Perhaps it is not meant for me... The woman that I dream of... There really is no guarantee... That we find that kind of love. She could just be still waiting for... A different kind of man. Not wanting romance anymore... I just don't understand! Perhaps someday these words I write... Will be read by her and she... Will know at last that this is right... And that God, for her, made me! And she will know it's answered prayer... When she reads these words I write. And I will know that she does care... And we'll both know... this is right! All these years of lonely waiting for... The right one was worth the wait! We'll be glad we'd trusted God for more... Because our God is never late! But I must admit my faith grows weak... That she's anywhere to find! Still I'll press "send" and dream we meet... Though it seems now... we're short of time! God's will be done... for he knows best. And His reasons we can't see. Still I truly must confess... That lonely's been tough... on me! Michael C Jones
